Based on a book by Philip Roth. The year 1976. A famous American writer Nathan Zuckerman, a Philip Roth‘s alter-ego, is challenged by a Czech immigrant Sisovsky who implores him to retrieve valuable Yiddish manuscripts from communist Czechoslovakia. The writer accepts this dangerous mission, where his every step is followed by the menacing secret police. In Prague, he needs to face Sisovsky‘s flamboyant and wild ex-wife Olga as she is in possession of the manuscripts. The evolving relationship between tameless Olga and Nathan is a bizarre confrontation of 2 worlds - a repressed totalitarian and a free world. Olga won‘t give up the manuscripts to Nathan easily.
